APN Stops Working After Changing the SIM Card

The SIM card was changed in an Android device enrolled as Device Owner. The mobile network doesn’t work, even though an APN profile is installed.

An APN profile is linked and locked to the SIM card. Changing the SIM card or setting the profile to waiting doesn’t help, because the APN profile is still locked to the old SIM card.

Remove the APN profile from the device before you insert the new SIM card, and then apply the APN profile again.

Follow these steps in this order:

  1. In the CapaInstaller Console, go to Configuration Management and find the device. Right-click the APN profile and select Remove Profile/Application. Wait until the profile is removed from the device.
  2. Remove the old SIM card.
  3. Insert the new SIM card.
  4. Apply the APN profile to the device again in the console, and wait until it’s installed.

The mobile network works with the new SIM card.
