How to move packages between groups
This guide explains how to move packages from one group to another group in the CapaInstaller console, for example from a Windows 10 group to a Windows 11 group.
- In Configuration Management, select the group that has the packages under Groups.
- Select Show packages.
- In the right-hand pane, press Ctrl+A to select all packages in the group. To move only some packages, select those packages instead.
- Right-click one of the selected packages, and then select Add to Buffer.
- In the left pane, right-click the new group, and then select Paste from Buffer.
- Select the new group and confirm that the packages are now linked to it.
- To complete the move, select the original group, select the packages, right-click one of them, and then select Unlink from group. When several packages are selected, the menu item is Unlink package from group.
The packages are now linked to the new group and no longer to the original group.
