Prerequisites for Reporting and Queries

Before you use Reporting and Queries according to our best practice, make sure the following infrastructure, rights, and processes are in place.

Element	Description
Installation	Install CapaInstaller and set up System Administration.
Inventory	Reports are built from the inventory that CapaInstaller collects from your units. Make sure inventory is collected before you build reports.
User rights	To save, delete, or deploy reports, your security profile needs Full control for Report and Query Manager. With Viewer, you can build and preview reports but not save them. For more information, go to Profile rights.
SQL Server Reporting Services	Required only if you want to deploy reports. Reporting Services must be installed on the same server as the CapaInstaller SQL database server. Enable and configure it in Reporting and Queries options.
Business Units	Required only for linked reports per Business Unit. Create one or more Business Units in System Administration before you create linked reports.
Processes	Create a process that defines how Reporting is used, so everybody knows what to expect, when to expect it, and from whom.
