Commandline arguments
Start Package Creator (Cipc.exe) with these arguments to import a package definition or preset the job type. Arguments aren’t case-sensitive.
| Argument | Parameter | Example | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| /import | Path to an XML file | cipc.exe /import "C:\Temp\MyPackage.xml" |
Imports the package definition from the XML file, saves it in the Package Creator database, and loads it. The file must exist. |
| /keepgui | None | cipc.exe /import "C:\Temp\MyPackage.xml" /keepgui |
Keeps Package Creator open after the import. Without /keepgui or /jobtype, Package Creator closes when the import is done. |
| /jobtype | computer or user |
cipc.exe /jobtype user |
Sets Job type in the CapaInstaller section to Computer or User for the loaded package. Package Creator stays open. Before you generate, select Job type in the tree and confirm the value. |
If an argument is invalid, for example if the XML file doesn’t exist or /jobtype has another value, Package Creator shows Invalid commandline argument specified and doesn’t start.
To export a package definition to an XML file, use File → Export package in Package Creator.
