Create a Package

You create packages with the Package Creator, which you can start from Configuration Management.

Before you start

• The Package Creator must be installed on the computer where you run the CapaInstaller Console. If it isn’t installed, nothing happens when you select Create Package….
• You need Admin rights for package administration on the Configuration Management Point.
• You can only create packages on a root Configuration Management Point, and not inside a business unit.

Start the Package Creator

1. In Configuration Management, right-click Applications and Packages and select Create Package….

The Package Creator opens. It’s a separate tool with its own step-by-step guide. See Create a Package using Package Creator for the full flow — choosing a template, defining values in the tree view, generating the package, and customizing the scripts.
