Google Play Work Apps
A Google Play Work app is an app from managed Google Play that you deploy to Android devices linked to an Android Enterprise. Google Play installs the app on the device and keeps it updated.
You can create a Google Play Work app yourself, or import all approved apps from CapaOne in one step.
Create a Google Play Work app
Section titled “Create a Google Play Work app”- In Configuration Management, expand a root Configuration Management Point, and then expand Applications and Packages.
- Right-click Device Applications and select Create application.
- In the Android category, click Google Play Work. The payload is added to the Device Application.
- Click Search. The Lookup or search for Google Play Work App dialog opens.
- Enter a search text and click Search. The list shows the approved apps that match.
- Select the app and click OK. Name, Vendor, Application identifier, Google Play URL, and Icon are filled in.
- Enter an Application name and click OK.
The Device Application appears under Device Applications. Link it to devices, users, or groups to deploy the app.
Import apps from CapaOne
Section titled “Import apps from CapaOne”- In Configuration Management, expand a root Configuration Management Point, and then expand Applications and Packages.
- Right-click Device Applications and select Import from CapaOne….
- Enter a Change description and click OK.
CapaInstaller creates a Device Application with a Google Play Work payload for each app that is approved in CapaOne.
Configure the app
Section titled “Configure the app”To send configuration keys and values to the app, add an AppConfig payload to the same Device Application. See AppConfig Payload.
