Unassign or delete a package
How you remove a package depends on whether you have selected it on a group or on a single unit.
From a group
Section titled “From a group”Right-click the package under the group and choose one of:
- Unlink from group — removes the link between the package and that group. The package itself is untouched and stays available for other groups and units.
- Delete — deletes the package entirely. See Delete a package.
From a unit
Section titled “From a unit”Right-click the package on the unit and choose Unlink. This removes the package assignment from that single unit. Deleting the package is only possible from the package itself, not from a unit.
Delete a package
Section titled “Delete a package”Right-click the package and select Delete. The Delete menu item isn’t available on CapaInstaller’s default packages.
The console doesn’t delete a package that:
- Has been promoted.
- Is published to a catalog. Clear Package is published to a catalog in the package properties first.
- Is mandatory. Clear Package is mandatory in the package properties first.
If other packages depend on the package, or if the package is linked to groups or units, the console asks whether to remove those dependencies and links. Answer Yes to remove them and continue with the deletion.
