Service Deployment

The Back-end Service, Front-end Service, OS Deployment Service, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) Service are deployed with the same deployment wizard in System Administration.

Deploy a service

In System Administration, expand Services.
Right-click the service type, for example Back-end Service, and select Deploy Back-end Service…. The deployment wizard opens.
If the wizard shows a prerequisite check, make sure that all prerequisites are met. Click the status link to deploy a missing service:
- The OS Deployment Service requires a Back-end Service.
- The MDM Service requires a Front-end Service and a Back-end Service.
Enter the target server and click Validate. A server can host only one service of each type.
For the Back-end, Front-end, and OS Deployment services, enter the Internal Url(s) and, if needed, the Public Url(s), including the port. Enter one URL per line in prioritized order. If you use an https:// URL, select an SSL Certificate.
Configure the service-specific options.
Select how the service files are copied to the target server, and then complete the wizard.

The service appears under Services in System Administration.

Default ports

The wizard suggests these ports for new services. You can change them in the URLs.

Manage a deployed service

Right-click a deployed service to open these commands:

Command	Description
Start, Stop, Restart	Controls the Windows service on the server.
Remove	Starts the wizard that removes the service.
Service settings…	Opens the service properties, where you change the URLs, certificate, database connection, and the service-specific settings.
