Configuration Management options
The following is a description of the options for Configuration Management. To open them, select Tools → Options…, and then select Configuration Management.
Some settings only apply to your own console. Other settings apply to all consoles, and only users with the Admin right in System Administration can change them. The global settings are:
- The restart method, lookup methods, timeout, and number of retry attempts under Restart agent.
- Exclude domain name in printer names, Use ip-range lookup when sending WOL requests, and Use the CapaInstaller OS Deployment Service (CiOsDeploy) to send Wake On LAN under Miscellaneous.
- The Power scheme exception list.

Power scheme exception list
Section titled “Power scheme exception list”The exception list consists of a collection of application names that the power management checks for before putting the computers into sleep mode. If an application, which name is on the list, is running, it prevents the power management from putting the computer to sleep.
Enter an Application name, and then click Add. To change or delete an application on the list, select it, and then click Edit or Remove.
Group content
Section titled “Group content”Choose the default behavior for each group type when units are unlinked from groups. Packages, profiles, and device applications can be unlinked (Unlink), removed or uninstalled (Remove/Uninstall), or kept (Keep).
You set the behavior separately for Static groups, Department groups, AD groups, and Dynamic groups. Select Ask on unlink to be asked every time you unlink units from that type of group.
Mobile Device Management
Section titled “Mobile Device Management”Searches for iOS apps in the App Store require a country. Some apps are only available in one or a few countries, so an app may not be found if you search in the wrong country. In this section, you choose which countries are used when searching for iOS apps and in which order.
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Add and Remove | Adds countries to the list or removes the selected country. Added countries are selected for both kinds of searches. |
| Move up and Move down | Changes the priority of the selected country. The countries are searched in the order of the list, starting from the top. |
| Available in Search | The country is listed when you search for iOS apps while you create a device application. |
| System Search | The country is used when the system searches the App Store, for example when it synchronizes Apple volume purchase programs (VPP). |
If you know that most of your VPP apps are only available in a specific country, move that country to the top of the list. This saves time and resources when Apple volume purchase programs are synchronized.
The system doesn’t save a country-specific version of the app, only its identifier. When the app is installed on a device, Apple can prevent the installation if the Apple account on the device is linked to a country where the app isn’t available.
