Software Requirements

This page lists the software that each CapaInstaller component needs before you install it.

Prerequisites

CapaInstaller agents

• Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2
• Microsoft PowerShell 5.1 (upgrade Windows 7 clients before you deploy or upgrade the agent)

In current agent versions, PowerPacks run in a PowerShell 7 engine that is included in the agent, together with the .NET runtime it needs. You don’t need to install PowerShell 7 or a .NET Desktop Runtime for PowerPacks to run. Earlier agent versions need Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 8 on the device. The PowerPack engine is a 64-bit application, so PowerPacks run on 64-bit Windows only.

Minimum requirements

To install and configure CapaInstaller services, you need a Microsoft Windows Server operating system. Both desktop and mobile platforms are supported as managed clients. See the pages for each component:

Important

• The CapaInstaller components are tested on the listed platforms. Check the additional notes for each component.
• The CapaInstaller security model requires Active Directory.
• CapaInstaller isn’t supported on case-sensitive file systems.
