Install Package Creator
Section titled “Install Package Creator”Package Creator is a component of the CapaInstaller Setup Wizard. Select CapaInstaller Package Creator when you run the Setup Wizard on the computer where you build packages. See How to install.
When the Setup Wizard installs Package Creator, it also:
- Installs the CapaInstaller agent on the same computer. Package Creator uses the CapaInstaller Scripting Library in the agent to generate scripts. On 64-bit Windows, both the 32-bit and the 64-bit agent are installed.
- Configures Package Creator to use the same CapaInstaller database as the Setup Wizard. You can change the database later under Tools → Options → Database.
The Setup Wizard writes the installation log to %ProgramFiles%\CapaInstaller\Logs\Setup\MSI\CapaInstallerPackageCreator.log.
Start Package Creator
Section titled “Start Package Creator”- In the CapaInstaller Console, right-click Packages on the root management point and select Create Package…. The console starts Package Creator from its own installation folder, so Package Creator must be installed on the same computer as the console.
