Delete a group

Before you start

• You need Admin rights for group administration on the Configuration Management Point.
• If the group is linked to an application group in Asset Management, unlink it there first. Otherwise the console doesn’t delete the group.

Delete the group

1. In Configuration Management, right-click the group and select Delete. To delete several groups at once, select them in the content view first.

2. In the confirmation dialog, optionally enter a Change description.

   

3. Click OK.

The group is removed from the navigation pane.

Caution

When you delete a group, all units that have been linked to it will automatically be unlinked right away. The group will not be removed from the database immediately though. That is the job of the replicator, which will clean up all links to the group, including packages.
