Edit a group
How you change a group’s membership after it has been created depends on the group type.
Static groups
Section titled “Static groups”Membership of a static group is maintained manually.
Remove a unit from the group

| 1 | Select the group in the navigation pane. |
| 2 | In the content view on the right, right-click a unit (or select several) and choose Unlink. |
Add a unit to the group — use one of these methods:
- Add the unit(s) to the buffer, then right-click the group and choose Paste computers, or
- Run a CMS function (for example
CMS_AddComputerToStaticGroup) from an OS Deployment script or a package.
Dynamic groups
Section titled “Dynamic groups”A dynamic group’s membership is defined by a report in Reporting and Queries and is maintained automatically by the Replicator. To change which units are members, edit the underlying report.

| 2 | Adjust the query criteria and save the report. |
The Replicator updates the group membership on its next run.
