License Consolidation

The license consolidation concept is based on the business needs for optimizing license usage. If an application installed on a computer/server in the organization is inactive (not used) it could automatically be uninstalled and the license used elsewhere.

Field descriptions
Element Description
Metering Identify the applications that should be managed and enable software metering for those. Be aware that metering has to be defined on a group level
Package Define “License Consolidation” Properties for the package. Select the application group (metering group) and set the inactive period. Be aware that the options are only available if the package has an uninstall script. More information about Package Properties.
Schedule license consolidation Schedule the CapaInstaller default package License Consolidation and link it to the computers or groups that license consolidation should be active on.
