Configuring the OSD GUI
You find these settings on the OSD Gui tab of the OS Point configuration. See Accessing OS Deployment configuration.

| Lookup Unit using | Lookup an existing Unit using UUID or Computername |
| Disable command prompt | Specify if you want to allow the user to open a command prompt during the OSD GUI session. |
| Use Deployment Templates | Configure the Client Installation using Deployment Templates. |
| Default Os Deployment Point | Deployment Point used when reinstalling clients installed before Capainstaller 6.2 |
| Default OS Deployment Server | Deployment Server used when reinstalling clients installed before Capainstaller 6.2 |
| Do not allow installation of unknown models | If OSD cannot detect a known model for the machine, the process will inform the user and abort |
| Disable Bitlocker Warning | Do not display a warning when deploying Windows 7/2008 to partitions that will not support Bitlocker setup |
| Disable BitLocker Partition | Do not create System partition when deploying Windows 7/2008, this will disable use of Bitlocker for the operating system. |
| Disable backend unit data cleanup before reinstall | Prevent OSD from requesting that the existing unit data is cleared in CapaInstaller before a reinstallation. |
| GUI Timeout | Specify a number of seconds for OSD to wait for user input, if the timer runs out OSD will start the deployment automatically |
| Skip GUI | Do not display the normal OSD UI, OSD will fail unless valid selections are made using the corresponding registry values. |
| Keep CapaLib Logfiles | Log files from CapaLib scripts run during deployment are copied to the c:osdlogs folder before WinPE reboots into Windows setup |
| Wait for backend unit data to be cleared before reinstall | Force OSD to wait until the existing unit data has been cleared before it continues. The maximum wait time is 300 seconds. |
| Naming method | Select the method that you want OSD to use for generating the name of the machine/client. The following values are available: - Manual: The user has to enter the name. - BIOS: The SMBIOS ID will be used to create a valid name. - MAC: The Mac address will be used to generate a name. |
| Minimum length | Specify the minimum length of a name. |
| Prefix | Specify a value that you want to be prefixed to the name generated by OSD. |
| Locked | Specify if you want to allow a user to change the name before starting the installation. The following values are available: - True: The user is unable to change the name. - False: The user can change the name. |
| Maximum Length | Specify the maximum length of the name, please note that names longer than 15 characters can have unexpected results in different software products |
| Name Casing | Choose between upper, lower and mixed casing for names |
| RegEx validation pattern | Specify a regular expression (vbscript regex rules apply) to be used for validation of names entered |
| RegEx validation rule | The message to be displayed when names do not comply with the RegEx validation pattern |
| Reuse Name | OSD will attempt to find the old name and reuse it if possible |
| Overrule name on reinstall | Allow users to change the name specified for a reinstallation. |
| Admin mode password | Specify the password that the user is required to enter to be able to shift to admin mode by pressing CTRL+A. If no value is defined, no password will be required to enter admin mode. |
| Installation type description | Specify the label of the installation type selection in the OSD GUI. Default: Installation Type. |
| Windows 11 Compatibility Check | Verify that the hardware is compatible with Windows 11 (for example Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, memory, disk, processor). Default: False. |
| Use BaseAgent download | Use the BaseAgent to download images and drivers. Default: False. |
| Show checkbox for Unlink all Advertised Packages | Show a check box in the OSD client that allows users to select if all advertised packages should be unlinked from the unit. Default: False. |
| Show checkbox for Clear All Packages and Groups | Show a check box in the OSD client that allows users to select if all linked packages and groups should be removed from the unit. Default: False. |
| Map legacy SMB Drives | Map the legacy Z: and S: network drives during OS Deployment. Default: True. |
| Delete Custom Inventory Job Values | Delete the custom inventory reported by the Custom Inventory job when the unit is reinstalled. Default: False. |
| Delete Custom Inventory Scripting Values | Delete the custom inventory reported by scripting functions such as CMS_AddCustomInventory when the unit is reinstalled. Default: False. |
| CustomFields | Define up to two custom fields that are shown in the OSD client. See Custom Fields Installation. |
