Working with power management

Introduction

Power management in Configuration Management revolves around three types of objects

  • Power schemes

  • Power scheme groups

  • Units

A power scheme is a set of configurative settings that mirror those of Microsoft’s Windows Power Management. The settings specify how the operating system will act in various situations. For example how long the pc can be idle without going in to standby.

A power scheme group is an object that links power schemes with the units and determines when to apply which power scheme to its members.

Units, or in this case computers, can be added to a power scheme group, and only one. It must be removed from its current group, before adding it to another.
