How to Manage Automatic Application Updates
CapaInstaller can automatically update App Store and Mac App Store apps on your managed iOS and macOS devices. When a newer version of an app is available in the store, CapaInstaller reinstalls the app on the linked devices.
Automatic updates happen in two steps, each run by a global Replicator task:
| Replicator task | What it does | Recommended schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Update data from Application Stores | Collects the latest version, features, and size of each app that has automatic updates turned on. | Periodical, once a day |
| Auto Upgrade Applications | Reinstalls the app on linked devices where a newer version exists in the store. | Periodical, nightly or weekly |
Both tasks are disabled by default.
