Toolbar and menu description for Asset Management

Introduction

The following is a description of the toolbar and menus in Asset Management. The general menu items are explained in the general description for the console.

The toolbar has a button for each of the three Asset Management views. The tree view changes to match the view you select.


Element	Description
	Unit view. Handling Unit management with asset information, file attachment, creating devices and units.
	Software view. Handling Software management with application groups, license management, metering, and file attachment.
	Asset view. Handling Asset management by creating categories, entries and values. Possible to assign multiple Units to a value.

Menus


File menu	Description
New… — Create a new computer	Creates a new item of the type selected in the tree view.
Import… — Use import	Imports application groups, unmanaged software queries, and known files from an XML file.
Export… — Use export	Exports application groups, unmanaged software queries, and known files to an XML file.
Delete unit… — Delete a unit	Delete units from the system.
Save attachment… — Edit attachment	Saves edited attachments to the database.


Edit menu	Description
Find…	Search for units in the Unit view, or for software and files in the Software view. The results are shown in the Search results folder. Not available in the Asset view.


View menu	Description
Go to → Back / Forward	Move back and forward between the items you have selected.


Tools menu	Description
Disallowed applications… — Disallowed applications	Manage the applications not allowed to run on the clients.
Unmanaged Software Queries… — Use unmanaged software queries	Manage the queries that move software to the Unmanaged Software folder.
