Predefined Reports

Reporting on the life cycle of configuration items (CI) is a daily task for configuration managers. CapaInstaller ships with a set of predefined reports based on the common need for reports about configuration items. You deploy them to Reporting Services in the same way as custom reports. Using the predefined reports ensures that the presented results and the underlying data are aligned.

Some reports are useful for measuring KPIs, budget figures, and performance. Others are for trend analysis and daily configuration management. To deploy the reports, go to Deploy predefined reports to reporting services.

Inventory

Report	Description
Computers and servers	System name, hard drive size, total memory, and serial number per computer and server.
Memory overview	Total memory, available memory slots, and the memory in each bank.
Monitor overview	Monitor type and serial number for monitor 1 and 2.
Operating system overview	Operating system name, install date, language, and service pack per client.
Processor overview	Processor name and speed per client.
Video adapter overview	Video adapter name and memory per client.
Low disk space	Computers with less than 2000 MB free disk space on drive C.
Number of PC models	The number of PCs per PC model.
Users with more than one computer	Users that are linked to more than one computer.

Unit

Report	Description
All computers	All computers with their status.
All users	All users with their status and linked unit.
All mobile devices	All mobile devices with their status.
User status	All users with password last changed, account expiry date, and last failed login time.
Inactive clients	Clients whose last executed date is more than a month ago.
Application group license	Application group license overview with the number of licenses, the number of used licenses, and the overall compliance.
Application metering history	A graph of the metering history per day per application group.

Updates

Report	Description
Updates check	The number of clients requesting each update.
Updates approved but not installed on computers	Approved updates that aren’t installed on the computers.

Packages

Report	Description
Packages failed today	Packages that failed today, with unit name and time.
Packages failed this week	Packages that failed this week, with unit name and time.
Package failed count	Clients with failed packages, and the number of failed packages.
Package Retirement Report	The retirement status of packages.
Device applications failed today	Device applications that failed today, with unit name and time.
Device applications failed this week	Device applications that failed this week, with unit name and time.
Device applications failed count	Clients with failed device applications, and the number of failed device applications.

BusinessUnit

These reports have a Business Unit parameter, so you can use them for linked reports per Business Unit. For more information, go to Reporting Services linked reports.

Business Unit Hotfix	Overview of hotfixes per Business Unit.
Business Unit Models	The number of unit models per Business Unit.
Business Unit Performance	The performance index per Business Unit.
Business Unit Software	The number of installed software per Business Unit.
Unit Hardware per Business Unit	Hardware inventory per unit and Business Unit.
Unit Performance per Business Unit	The performance index per unit per Business Unit.
Unit Software per Business Unit	The software installed per unit per Business Unit.
Software License per Business unit	Application group license overview per Business Unit.
Software License per Department	Application group license overview per department.
Software License per Department licensed	Application group license overview per department, for applications with a registered number of licenses.
Business Unit Package Retirement Report	The retirement status of packages per Business Unit.
Business Unit Updates approved but not installed on computers	Approved updates that aren’t installed on the computers, per Business Unit.
