Configuring Installation types

Installation type	You can define different installation types, e.g. for specific areas or departments. This can be used when choosing between different images.

The user selects the installation type in the OSD GUI. You can change the label of the selection with the Installation type description setting on the OSD Gui tab. See Configuring the OSD GUI.

Add or edit an installation type

1. Open the configuration of the OS Point and select the Installation types tab. See Accessing OS Deployment configuration.
2. Select Add, or select an installation type and select Edit.
3. In Type, enter the name. The name must be unique, and it can contain letters, digits and the characters + - _ # % $ @.
4. If deployment templates are enabled, select a Deployment Template, or select (none).
5. Select OK.
6. Use the up and down arrows to set the order in which the installation types are listed in the OSD GUI.
7. Select OK to save the configuration.

To remove an installation type, select it, select Delete, and then select OK.

Note

If a Business Unit has its own installation types, the OSD client shows those instead of the installation types of the OS Point for units in that Business Unit. See Business Units in Configuration Management.
