Internet Explorer Helper Is Not Compatible

On Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 you may get the following message when you open Internet Explorer:

Internet Explorer notification bar saying that PremiTech Performance Guard Helper isn’t compatible with enhanced security features and has been disabled

‘PremiTech Performance Guard Helper’ from ‘CapaSystems A/S’ isn’t compatible with Internet Explorer’s enhanced security features and has been disabled.

When that’s the case, the agent can’t collect Internet Explorer data, and IE web applications (IE transaction filters) don’t work on that computer, because the helper add-on is an important part of the transaction filter functionality.

Cause

The helper add-on can’t run when Internet Explorer’s Enhanced Protected Mode is turned on.

Solution

Don’t turn off Enhanced Protected Mode or other browser security features to make the add-on work. Instead, measure the web application in Chrome or Microsoft Edge: set it up as a Chromium web application, and use the PerformanceGuard Web Timer extension.
