AutoSteps User Interface

You configure AutoSteps in the PerformanceGuard web interface under Administration → AutoSteps. You don’t configure the AutoSteps executors on the computers themselves: when you install AutoSteps on a computer that has a PerformanceGuard agent, the agent detects it, and the computer appears under Unmapped AutoSteps on the Groups page.

Caution

You can only do this if you are PerformanceGuard administrator.

The AutoSteps menu has these pages:

• Scripts: Create the scripts that AutoSteps runs. See Create a Script.
• Jobs: Combine a script, an executor group and a schedule into a job. You can also turn a job on or off, or run it in debug mode. See Create a Job.
• Groups: Put the computers that run AutoSteps into executor groups. See Create an Executor Group.
• Activity: View and delete the transaction data that your scripts have reported. See AutoSteps Activity.

Tip

Scripts of the AutoHotkey type (.ahk files), such as the built-in Notepad Demo and Outlook Mail Roundtrip scripts, need AutoHotkey on each computer that runs the scripts. Download AutoHotkey from AutoHotKey. The built-in demo scripts are written for AutoHotkey version 1.1.
