Dashboard Slideshows

A dashboard slideshow shows several dashboards in turn, full screen, without you having to switch between them. This is useful for example on a wall-mounted monitor.

You create and view slideshows from Slideshows in the sidebar. Slideshows are shared: all users can see, play, and change all slideshows.

  1. Select Slideshows in the sidebar.
  2. Click Create slideshow.
  3. Enter a name for the slideshow. The name must be unique.
  4. Optionally, select the dashboards that the slideshow should contain.
  5. Click Create.

Only public dashboards can be added to a slideshow. If a dashboard in a slideshow is later changed from public to private, PerformanceGuard removes it from all slideshows.

Click the menu button next to the slideshow name. The menu contains these options:

  • Add dashboards: select or clear the dashboards that the slideshow should contain.
  • Edit name: rename the slideshow.
  • Copy slideshow: create a new slideshow with the same dashboards.
  • Delete slideshow: click it once more to confirm.

You can remove a dashboard from a slideshow in two ways:

  • Open Add dashboards and clear the dashboard.
  • Click the menu button under the dashboard on the Slideshows page, and then select Remove from slideshow.

Clicking a dashboard on the Slideshows page opens the dashboard.

Click the play button next to the slideshow name. The button is only shown when the slideshow contains at least one dashboard.

The slideshow shows the dashboards full screen in alphabetical order by dashboard title. By default, each dashboard is shown for 10 seconds. If the next dashboard hasn’t finished loading when the time is up, the slideshow keeps showing the current dashboard until the next one is ready.

To change how long each dashboard is shown, add the slideDuration parameter to the slideshow’s URL in the browser’s address bar, and reload the page. The value is in seconds. For example, adding &slideDuration=30 shows each dashboard for 30 seconds. If the URL doesn’t contain a ? yet, add ?slideDuration=30 instead.

While a slideshow plays, the dashboards aren’t interactive. Clicking anywhere opens the dashboard that’s currently shown. To stop the slideshow and return to the Slideshows page, press Esc.
