Dashboard Reports
Dashboard reports let you schedule PerformanceGuard to create a PDF file of a dashboard at a frequency that you choose. You can also have the PDF files emailed to recipients.
Save a dashboard as PDF now
Section titled “Save a dashboard as PDF now”- Open the dashboard and click the menu button in the dashboard toolbar.
- Select Reporting, and then select one of these options:
- Preview PDF: shows a preview of the PDF. From the preview you can click Save as PDF.
- Save as PDF: creates the PDF file and opens it in a new browser tab.
Open the scheduled reports
Section titled “Open the scheduled reports”You can open the list of scheduled reports in two ways:
- From a dashboard: click the menu button in the dashboard toolbar, select Reporting, and then select Schedule report. The list only shows the scheduled reports for that dashboard.
- From Administration: as an administrator, go to Administration → Dashboard → Scheduled reports. The list shows all scheduled reports.
Create a scheduled report
Section titled “Create a scheduled report”- In the list of scheduled reports, click the + button (Create scheduled report) next to the search field.
- On the Setup tab, enter the required information:
- Name
- Dashboard: when you create the report from a dashboard, this is that dashboard. When you create the report from Administration, you can select several dashboards.
- Frequency: Never, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly. You can select several frequencies.
- Cleanup reports automatically: selected by default. PDF files created by the report are then deleted 90 days after they were created. Clear the checkbox to keep them.
- Optionally, on the Email recipients tab, add the email addresses that should receive the PDF file each time a report is created. Sending email requires that SMTP is set up. See Manage SMTP Notification Service.
- Optionally, on the Advanced tab, select the Time Period that the report should cover. The setting only affects widgets that inherit their time period from the dashboard.
- Click Create.
When you select several dashboards or frequencies, PerformanceGuard creates one scheduled report for each combination. Each report gets the name you entered, followed by the dashboard name and the frequency.
Manage scheduled reports
Section titled “Manage scheduled reports”In the list of scheduled reports, click the menu button next to a report to:
- Edit the report.
- Disable the report. This sets the frequency to Never.
- Delete the report. This also deletes all PDF files that the report has created.
Click the dashboard in the Dashboard column to open the dashboard. Click the name of a scheduled report to open its Report History. The history shows when each PDF file was finished and how long it took to create. From there you can download each PDF file.
