AutoSteps icon is Missing

Symptom: The AutoSteps icon doesn’t appear in the computer’s notification area (also known as system tray) after AutoSteps has been installed.

Possible cause and solution

The icon is always shown while AutoSteps is running. If you don’t see it, AutoSteps hasn’t been started.

AutoSteps runs in the context of the signed-in user, not as a Windows service. It starts automatically at sign-in only if you set up automatic logon when you installed AutoSteps. Otherwise, start it yourself:

1. Go to C:\Program Files\PerformanceGuard\AutoSteps.
2. Run the AutoSteps application file.

The AutoSteps icon appears in the notification area. Only one instance of AutoSteps runs at a time.

Tip

If Windows hides the icon, select the arrow in the notification area to show hidden icons.
